MSc
After a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Physiology in Lille, I came to Paris to do a Master 1 in Neuroscience (Université de Paris).
It is in this context that I joined for the first time the Dream Team to realize a 2-month internship with Dr Thomas Andrillon, about the prevalence and behavioral consequences of EEG markers of fatigue in ADHD patients (local sleep intrusions during wakefulness). I am currently enrolled in the second year of the Cognitive Sciences master’s program (Cogmaster) of École Normale Supérieure and I joined the team again to investigate the potential learning and memory capacities of patients with Disorders of Consciousness (DoC): Unresponsive Wakefulness Syndrome (UWS), Minimally Conscious State (MCS), Locked-in Syndrome (LS). For this project, Thomas and I are working in collaboration with another ICM team: «PICNIC - Neuropsychologie et neuroimagerie fonctionnelle» and weare adapting paradigms already implemented in sleep, a physiological state of altered consciousness, to the study of these patients. Understanding whether DoC patients can form and access different types of memories could thus help understand what it is like to be in a UWS, MCS or LS state, what kind of consciousness these states entail, and it could hence improve the clinical care of these patients.
