Al-Youssef Attallah Saba
PhD
I am a PhD student in neurosciences working on Kleine-Levin syndrome, a.k.a. the Sleeping Beauty syndrome, under the supervision of Pr. Arnulf.
I’ve done all my scholarity in Syria where I got my Pharmacy degree. I then moved to Paris and enrolled in a research master 2 at Paris Sud university. This led me to domy M2 internship in the Sleep department of Pitié Salpêtrière hospital within the MOV’IT team at the ICM. My project was to study the autonomic dysfunction during sleep in idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD), -apre-parkinsonian phase and early stage of Parkinson disease -, and its correlation with cerebral lesions of the medulla oblongata using diffusion-weighted 3T MR imagery. While waiting to be able to start a thesis on Kleine-Levin syndrome under Pr. Arnulf supervision, I extended my time within the sleep department as a research coordinator. During this time, I worked on clinical studies on rare sleep disorders such as idiopathic hypersomnia and Kleine-Levin syndrome
